Wingrip

When a large open space isn’t available, an overhead cable-based system probably isn’t your fall protection solution. That’s where Wingrip comes in. FLS Wingrip systems operate inside or outdoors and provide access to the entire spectrum of work site shapes and sizes. Your workers will be able to work with confidence and efficiency in any environment.

Engineered by Engineers, For Engineers

Developed by engineers for engineers, Wingrip provides a compact, lightweight and flexible fall protection solution that allows maintenance checks to be undertaken quickly and easily.

Wingrip for Utilities

Wingrip provides a compact, lightweight and flexible fall protection solution that allows maintenance checks to be undertaken quickly and easily. All that is needed is a compressed air or nitrogen supply. The system is a light, easy-to-carry, one-man operation.

Low Operating and Maintenance Cost

Efficiency and innovation in design make calibration and maintenance of the Wingrip vacuum module and pads a simple procedure. Calibration may be conducted on site with no specialized tools or equipment. Operating cost is also very low, without the need for stocking backup components.ork with confidence and efficiency in any environment.

Additionally, Wingrip provides a system that meets legislative requirements. In fact, Wingrip has multiple safeguards should the air supply feed line be compromised or should the vacuum module to pad hose be removed without the knowledge of your workers. The pads provide up to 20 minutes backup to allow the workers time to safely vacate the elevated work should an alarm sound. Worker safety is paramount.

Fall Arrest vs. Fall Restraint

In most applications, the Wingrip is rigged to provide fall restraint. In this scenario, your worker servicing a wing cannot get close enough to the edge to fall. This placement of the Wingrip anchor is the most popular method for low wing aircraft with very little distance from the work surface to the ground.

For high work site applications, the Wingrip may be rigged for full fall arrest. In this scenario, your worker is protected from a significantly longer fall. The Wingrip lanyard will simply stretch and prevent ground (or next level) contact altogether. Also, when the lanyard reaches the fall arrest point, Wingrip’s engineered energy absorption compensates for the force.

Wingrip Features
The system is powered by compressed air or nitrogen.
The vacuum pad is compressed against the aircraft by atmospheric pressure and held in place by the negative pressure beneath the pad.
Wingrip can be used singly on the wings or fuselage, or connected in series to cover a full wingspan.
Wingrip is non-electrical, so electrical cables, mobile generators and a battery charging system are not required.
The Wingrip system is safe in all environments.
In the event of a failure of the air/nitrogen supply, an alarm will sound and the pads will maintain a safe working vacuum for a minimum of 20 minutes.
Using the work positioning rope attachment, the worker is given a working area of approximately 3m x 3m. The work positioning rope is ideal for working on the trailing edge of the wing where the materials used do not suit the placement of a vacuum pad.
Wingrip for Tanks

Wingrip can be used as a single fall protection anchor point or, alternatively, can be connected in series with a horizontal lifeline to cover an entire area. Wingrip provides a totally flexible solution that is quick and easy to use.

Tanks - Energy
Oil and gas tanks are in need of constant repair and maintenance. Most of this work is done with few or no structural elements overhead from which to install fall protection. FLS systems address all of these variables.
